The North American Cart, Utility, and Truck of the Year, or NACTOY, awards aim to determine the best vehicles in their respective classes so consumers can make a more educated decision when shopping around. For the first time since 2015, Ford has two vehicles in the coveted field of nine finalists: the 2021 Ford F-150, and the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E.

In the Truck category, the 2021 F-150 is up against the Jeep Gladiator Mojave and the Ram 1500 TRX. The Mustang Mach-E squares off with the Genesis GV80 and Land Rover Defender.

In November, the Mach-E and F-150 took home the Green Car Journal’s 2021 Green Truck of the Year and 2021 Green Car of the Year awards. Just a month later, the two models won another major award as the F-150 secured the Edmunds Top Rated Truck for 2021 and the Mach-E won the Edmunds Top Rated Luxury EV.

Ford Motor Company and International Market Groups President Kumar Galhotra spoke on the awards, saying, “The North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year awards are among the most prestigious in the industry given their objective jury of independent reporters — and winning such an honor serves as a capstone achievement for years of hard work for the winning vehicle.”
