The 2021 Ford F-150 Police Responder vehicle needs only 5.4 seconds to reach a speed of 60 mph, 1.2 seconds less than the previous year’s model. It hits 100 mph 3.7 seconds faster than the previous year’s model, too. The 2021 F-150 Police Responder also leaves other LEO sedans and SUVs in the dust at it outruns them by 0.4 seconds.
Due to its unbelievable responsiveness in the 0-60 mph and quarter-mile sprints, the 2021 F-150 Police Responder, which draws inspiration from the all-new Ford F-150, holds a unique honor, the only pursuit-rated pickup truck in America.
The truck’s top speed of 120 mph was vetted by tests conducted by the Michigan State Police Department. Last year’s truck had a top speed of 105 mph.
“Vehicle acceleration and speed contribute to how quickly first responders can safely arrive at an emergency scene,” said Greg Ebel, Ford police vehicle brand manager. “Shaving even a few seconds off response times can make a big difference. Whether responding to an accident on the highway or a distress call from somewhere off-road, law enforcement officers can count on 2021 F-150 Police Responder to get them there fast.”
A twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 with police tuning powers the F-150 Police Responder, which features automatic 4WD mode and a torque-on-demand 4×4 transfer case.
